IndabaX Nigeria 2025: How to Build a Sustainable AI Product

I spoke at IndabaX Nigeria 2025 on building sustainable AI products. Why Nigeria has over 3,000 AI researchers but fewer than 50 working AI products, and what we must do about it.

This week I had the priviledge of attending the IndabaX Nigeria 2025 Conference at Summit University Offa.

I delivered a session on "From Idea to MVP: How to build a Sustainable AI Product" . My session was a call for builders in the tech ecosystem to unleash their entrepreneur spirit by leveraging AI to solve common problems.

Nigeria has over 3000 AI researchers and more than AI related a million research papers on Google Scholar, but fewer than 50 known working AI products. My session was both a question on " Why are we not building ?" And a conversion on " How to Build a Sustainable AI Product by starting with an MVP. Because it is not enough to just publish papers or build models, we must find a way to transmute the knowledge and the experiments into usable products for all.

The event was power packed, I made new friends, reconnected with old friends and learnt a lot from different sessions. It was another meeting of top intellectuals in the Nigeria AI Community and I am happy to be there.
